Gangtok felt like stepping into clean mountain air and colorful flags. MG Marg at night is the town’s living room; Rumtek and the ropeway pull you outward. I ate momos and thukpa until the cold made sense, and left knowing Sikkim asks foreigners to check permits — and asks everyone to watch the weather.
