Disneyland to Hogwarts, a boulevard of stars, illusions that break your brain, and the Pacific when you finally need air.
LA captured me across freeways: a mouse-eared day in Anaheim, stars underfoot on Hollywood Boulevard, rooms that lie to your eyes, a hill with the sign, a studio that sells the movies back to you, and a pier when the week finally exhaled. A rental car is not optional. Seven days is a first honest pass.
Every tagged stop is on the map. All pins shows them together — tap a name to zoom in. Disneyland sits in Anaheim; treat it as its own day. Driving, not walking, connects most of this.
The useful layer — park tickets, Genie-style line-skipping, and why Metro alone will not save a week here.
Anaheim, not LA proper. A full day minimum. Childhood, engineered. Coco found me in the park whether I planned it or not.
Hollywood Boulevard, stars underfoot, tourist density maxed. Go once. Hunt your people. Leave before the street performers own you.
Rooms that argue with your eyes. Photos required. Laughing is the correct research method.

Date-based tickets on the Disney site. Genie+ / Lightning Lane if you hate standing still. Park Hopper only if you will actually use California Adventure the same day. Buy before you fly.

ReserveWalk of Fame, Santa Monica Pier boardwalk, most of Griffith's outdoor decks. Show up. Bring water.
Walk upStreet tacos, al pastor, carne asada, fish on the coast. Food trucks often win. East LA and the trucks beat the polished versions.
$2–5 eachAnimal Style if you know. Never-frozen, hand-cut fries, a line that is information. Tourist duty that still tastes right.
$8–12KBBQ you grill yourself. All-you-can-eat options. Kang Ho Dong Baekjeong if you want the loud table. Go hungry.
$25–40Kogi and friends — Korean-Mexican fusion, lobster rolls, soft serve that should not work. Follow where they park.
$10–15Bottomless mimosas, serious pancakes, eggs under many names. Book ahead or wait. Weekends are not casual.
$18–35Bowls, avocado toast, cold-pressed everything. Erewhon if you want the stereotype. Fine fuel between freeways.
$12–18Summer and holidays fill Anaheim and Hollywood. Fall (the real "LA summer") is kinder on rates and fog. Book park-adjacent hotels with free cancellation when you can.
Hollywood / Los Feliz — Walk of Fame, Griffith access. Santa Monica / Westside — pier, beach evenings. Anaheim — only if Disneyland owns a night or two. Near Universal — if the studio is the center of gravity.
Do not sleep in three neighborhoods in one week unless you like packing. One base + a car beats three Airbnbs. Parking is a line item — ask before you book.
15–24°C, clear before June Gloom, wildflowers after wet winters. Strong hiking and beach window.
18–29°C coast, hotter inland. June Gloom is real — gray mornings, clearer afternoons. Parks crowded. Valleys bake.
17–28°C. Best overall. "LA summer" is Sept–Oct: warm, clear, less fog. Fewer tourists. My preferred week.
10–20°C, possible rain, still mild. Ski in the mountains and beach the same day if the sky allows. Lowest prices.
Almost required for a week that includes Anaheim, Griffith, Santa Monica, and Universal. Budget parking everywhere. Freeways are the transit system.
Nearly requiredUber/Lyft for nights out and Griffith when parking is hopeless. Adds up fast across a week — better as a supplement than a plan.
Per rideUseful on a few corridors (Hollywood, Santa Monica Expo Line). Not a full substitute for Disneyland + hills + studios. TAP card, limited hours mindset.
Limited LA Metro ↗Neighborhoods yes. City-wide no. Hollywood Boulevard and the pier are walkable clusters. Everything else is a drive.

Seven days and the map still has holes. These are the ones I owe a return.
Coast north of Santa Monica. Beaches without the pier carnival. I stopped at the Ferris wheel and called the Pacific done.
Half dayArchitecture, gardens, a tram. Free entry, paid parking. A quiet I did not schedule between parks.
Half dayMurals, food halls, a different LA than Hollywood Boulevard. I stayed west and north.
EveningI photographed the sign from Griffith. I did not earn it on foot. Next time.

Already on the map for a reason. Full day. Traffic both ways. Stay nearby if you hate early alarms after late fireworks.
Full day · drive Disneyland ↗Pacific Coast Highway north. Beaches, overlooks, a slower California. Pair with Santa Monica if you only have half a day.
