Lima: Peru's Coastal Crown Jewel
Lima surprised me at every turn. This sprawling metropolis perched on the Pacific coast is so much more than a gateway to Machu Picchu - it's a destination that deserves days of exploration. From the colorful street art of Barranco to the clifftop views of Miraflores, Lima pulses with a creative energy that's infectious.
The city taught me that Peru's treasures aren't just found in ancient ruins. Here, world-class cuisine meets indigenous traditions, creating a culinary scene that's conquered the globe. Whether you're cycling through seaside neighborhoods, exploring pre-Columbian pyramids right in the city center, or watching the sunset from Love Park, Lima offers experiences that are uniquely Peruvian.
What struck me most was how Lima embraces both its past and future. Ancient adobe structures stand proudly alongside modern shopping centers, while the ocean provides a constant backdrop to this city's endless stories.
